Autobots gather! Your legendary leader Optimus Prime has landed on planet earth with a new photo-luminescent technology that will make the colorful eyes glow. Let’s explore the details of his mission in this article.
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots. Long ago, he was the novice to the Great Sentinel Prime and the humble leader of Cybertron’s science division. When Megatron was corrupted by the Fallen, Optimus discovered that he was the last of the Dynasty of Primes hidden away when the Fallen destroyed their lineage. In response to Megatron’s attempts to seize and conquer other worlds, Optimus assumed his proper title and rallied the Autobots to stand against the Decepticons.
Measuring 36.15 in diameter and weighing 30.76 gram, the Transformers Optimus Prime Silver Coin is the first release in the transformer series by the Royal Canadian Mint.
The reverse of the coin shows the portrait head of Optimus Prime. The head pop out of the coin due to the ultra high relief engraving. When the lights are out, the eyes glow from blue to green thanks to the new photo luminescent technology. This gives the coin a dual design that looks amazing everywhere.
The Transformers insignia of the Autobots are engraved beside the left and right side of the head. The character’s name (OPTIMUS PRIME) is engraved in Cybertronian lettering at the top of the coin, a nod to the character’s second home planet earth.
The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is designed by Susanna Blunt.
The coin is encapsulated and presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box. Licensed by Hasbro, there is a limited mintage of 3,500 pieces worldwide.
