The Last Supper is the final meal that, in the Gospel accounts, Jesus shared with his Apostles in Jerusalem before his crucifixion. It is one of the most admired artwork by Leonardo da Vinci. The genius artist captured the fraught moment immediately after the statement of Jesus that one of his disciples would betray him. Commemorate this historical event with this 2 oz silver coin before the resurrection of Christ this Easter.
The reverse of the coin shows the scene of the Last Supper of Jesus with his apostles, as it is told in the Gospel of John, 13:21. Leonardo has depicted the consternation that occurred among the Twelve Disciples when Jesus announced that one of them would betray him. The coin takes the shape of a painting and is encapsulated in a rectangular coin capsule to protect it from damages.
Measuring 30 x 50 mm, the obverse of the coin features a wonderful drapery and the jar of holy communion in remembrance of Christ sacrifice. The Coat of Arms of Cameroon and the inscriptions: “REPUBLIQUE DU CAMEROUN” – the issuing country, “2019” – the year of issue and the face value are also shown at the obverse.
The coin comes in a black rectangular display frame with a certificate of authenticity. This timeless piece of art has selective copper plating and is minted in antique high relief. It is made of 2 oz of pure silver and is limited to just 999 pieces worldwide.
